The next city we wanted to focus on in our Local Roofing Retreat series is Eustis, Florida. Eustis is a beautiful city, and we've found some really great getaways for you visit while our roofers work on your repair or re-roofing.

The GeorgeFest

If your Roof Retreat occurs anytime between February 27 and March 1, you should check out the Eustis GeorgeFest. This is a series of festive events for the public that includes a parade, street vendors serving up local fare, a carnival and live entertainment in historic downtown Eustis. There's something for all ages at GeorgeFest. Bring along your kids and they'll enjoy the fireworks show in Ferran Park, the ice cream social and the festival's Cornhole Tournament.

Eustis Historical Museum & Preservation Society

This museum is home to Eustis's famous Clifford House, a historic home located on North Bay Street. The Clifford House was owned by one of Florida's earliest settlers, G.D. Clifford. This beautiful 18 room home was built in 1910. It has been listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since 1975. Venture inside of the Clifford House and you'll find that each room has its own unique theme. Most have pieces of local history on display along with gorgeous period antiques.

Trout Lake Nature Center

Trout Lake Nature Center was created to educate the public about the natural world, wetlands, and wildlife. It's a 230 acre wildlife preserve that features a 1,000 foot long boardwalk that leads right into Trout Lake. You're also able to partake in bird watches, listen to information sessions with nature artists, participate in basket weaving. You can spend time in the lake's pavilion, travel interpretive trails and partake in an Adventure walk that includes a super cool swinging bridge.

Ferran Park

Ferran Park is one of the cities gems. This beautiful green space has a lovely lakefront walkway that provides park-goers with an unbelievable panoramic view of Lake Eustis. You can spend hours walking this walkway and not grow tired of the view. It has remarkable landscaping, perfectly maintained walking paths, and breathtaking views. At the northern section of the park is a restored sea wall that extends to the McClelland Bandshell.
